Default Best rear shock for touring model

I've got to replace the OEM air ride shocks on my RK. I have no clue about what non OEM shocks would be a good replacement. Any suggestions?

The good thing is there are 100 threads for you to read if you do a search.

I have Ohlins in the front and rear, and am very happy with them. Your thread title includes "Best", and I would rank them right up there.

You give very little info but the search function is your friend. A bike for the track and one for two up are very different. getting them set up correctly is the key.

That’s a very general question. 1. Do you ride mostly solo or 2 up? 2. What is your budget? You can spend $500 or $1500. 3. Define what best means for you. A plush ride or more of a sports bike type ride. 4. How much do you weigh solo or 2 up?
Like fireball said, getting them adjusted correctly for you is as important as buying a decent pair of shocks.

As has been said, it depends on your budget. A good well known brand is a good place to start. Many of us have been in the same situation and I went with Ohlins for the rears on my’13 King. Couldn’t be happier and they have shocks for every budget.

There are many good options on the market that would make you very happy.

For me the best quality and performance for the dollar in Pro-Action.

They are built in America and built to last and simply function as you would expect.

Buy direct from them in Beaver Falls, PA. It’s always nice speaking with George, DJ and Julie. Great people with a wealth of motorcycle suspension knowledge.

RickRac is also now selling Pro-Action.

Oh dear gawd! Another shock thread!!!

I started with HD air shocks, then to HD adjustable premium shocks and finally ended up with Ohlins. Shoulda just put them on first....
