Default T/Max Again

After installing the Tmax there is a noticable improvement to my 2006 EGC but after 1000 miles of tune I find the bike will runok to70 miles an hour but really dies off after that, my usable max top speed ( no head wind and flat straight road ) is only about 95miles an hour it feels as if the last third of the throttlejust doesnt work ( hard to explain ) Im thinking that the standand 13:1AFR might be a bit lean at those speeds or could it be that the timing needs advancing 2 to 3 deg'safter say 4000rpm.

Any & All help is very appreciated

Glenn

Glenn,
I have a DTT and the Tmax is similar as tuning in areas. What that means is you need to ride in those areas for the tuning process to happen. Do a few runs at the highway speed and it will tune. I actually have a 25 mile loop I do to tune mine. It has stop and go plus highway and cruise areas. This is the only way for it to tune those areas.

Good luck

After I did my DTT install, I ran up the highway at 100-115 mph for about 5 miles...........hopefully that did the tuning it needed as I really don't want to risk a ticket again at those speeds.

Would it be possible to run in a lower gear to get to the higher throttle percentages and rpms instead of having to go so fast and risk a ticket or worse? Thanks Tim

Hey Spike
Thanks for your advise, I think you may be right. looks like I will have to due a bit more high speed runs ( wish me luck, the local boy's in blue just love to nab a scooter traveling over the speed limit )

TB,
you could but the effects wouldn't quite be the same. The load would be different on the engine. But if you don't normally ride in that range why worry about it. If your normal riding is 80 -85 on a highway thats all you need to do. Don't worry about above that cause you don't ride there. If it really is needed grab sometime on a dyno. Run it up a few times shut it off and redo. you usually can get on a dyno for an hour or 2.
