.
A few good options are available. I have run the SE comp and I am sure the Baker is a good one. My choice the last time I needed one was the Dark Horse Man-O-War sprocket.

The comp is the first item in the power train to take a beating from the crank, so don't cheap out on it...

the problem is the comp design of the Harley, did not keep up with the increase of the power that the newer motors have (after the evo) , that the comps did keep up with..

I have a used-takeoff rotor I’ll donate to the cause if he wants to pay for the ride from SoCal…

I am curious what the big evos did for comps and any issues?

Never trust a guy who calls himself doc. I've watched that video, I think he gets a few of his years wrong and such. He is a harley suck up.

Is your buddy a hard rider? I like to cruise fast, but I am wuss at taking off. LIke to hit the on ramp fast, but I am no good at holeshots.
No he's not a hard rider. At least when I ride with him. LOL I'm taking a ride to the harley dealer today and talk to the parts manager. I'm pretty good friends with him. I have the part #'s from Ohio HD.

Just for accuracy's sake, here is the correct image of the parts in the 40100061 kit. The plastic scoops are shown. The first image was the early SE compensator, this one is the current model.

I took Hayden out. Seemed way to tight

I had bearing fail 25k, put in Hayden. Another failed around 50, put baker bearing in, that failed too.

Put Harleys next version of tensioner in.

I think I would be tempted to go manual if fails again

Put in a baker, and be done with it.
