Default IDS and Gas Milage

I notice that with the IDS Iride morenear 2200 rpm most of the time.I am alsoseeing a slightincrease in overall gas milage.(40 mpg vs 44 mpg.)Has anyone else noticeda change in gas milage after IDS install?
Just curious,
Bob

Yes, but my MPG have gone the other way. Note that I haven't changed my driving habits with the installation of the IDS. I lost maybe 1 to 1.5 MPG. However, I really don't know if it's IDS related. I need to put on some more mileage before I'm convinced. Heading down to Helen, GA this week. I'll report my findings ASAP.

I don't have the IDS but my bike hasn't had any issues either. After the stage 1 my mpg went up 4 mpg. I can also ride at 2,200 rpms with no problem in 6th now.
highway 47-48mpg
in town/ stop and go traffic 42-44 mpg
I live on a mountain and there are a lot of stop signs and folks that pull out that causes you to have to slow down. Not much disrespecting on the mountain just country folks driving real slow

I was thinking I might since I'm able to run it smoothly at a lower RPM, but today I saw the same mileage on my ride (50mpg). The temperature was much lower than usual, around low-80's instead of 90°+ recently, which might make a slight difference toward the negative. I was able to easy cruise at 45mph (GPS, not the optimistic HD speedometer) in 5th and 55mph in 6th. It makes me fondly remember my old Evo RK that could run at 1800 in 5th all day.

I do think it'll make a difference, as when I'm going 45mph I can now stay in 5th rather than downshift, for example. One trial isn't conclusive, however, and I'll keep an eye on it.

I'm still breaking it in, but before IDS I was getting about 39-41. I installed the IDS yesterday and rode 255 miles today, all in the "mountains" here in Utah and Nevada, so mostly under 70. I got 42.8, two up.

I wonder about how much gas is used at very low rpm versus higher rpm. Wouldn't more gas be used to accelerate from low rpms?

I would think so if it uses belt drive to each wheel.

I've put onover 250 miles with the IDS and noticed that I'm riding in the lower rpm ranges a lot more, right around 2200. I"ll know moreafter a few more tanks of gas, but ithas increased the gas mileage by a couple of mpg's.

Just did 1200 miles with my IDS installed. This thing is great..simply awesome.
I really abused the hell out of the bike, did deals gap like 7 times just launching the bike out of the 318 curves over and over again.
IDS held up great, and there was no clatter in any RPM, any gear, on any road or condition. It's like having a new bike.
Did not notice any difference in gas mileage though...
