I don't think any Vance & Hines pipes had CATS back in 2006.

Their "PCX Technology" is fairly new.... I think it started in 2022ish...

I didn't realize it was only not so long ago.

So what's everyone's opinion on Thunder Torque inserts versus baffles?

IMHO.... if the exhaust has baffles, use the baffles.... You can often get different baffles to adjust sound.

The thubder torque inserts were origianlly developed for straight pipes if my memory is correct....

Run the baffles, the TTIs are to install IN the baffle if you have the room, if not you can add the Fuel Moto inserts, they fit in baffles down to 1.75 I believe

You do NOT want to run those V&H cans without baffles, they are miserable sounding and even worse performing. I have first hand experience with those.

I was looking to increase the sound a little at least. Perhaps with the 3 cats removed the sound will improve. I hate to put the baffles back if only because they are so difficult to remove. Once they go down over that inner pipe in the muffler it's game over and near impossible to remove even with a little anti seize applied.

Well I decided to put the baffles back in. Took it for a run down the road and it actually sounds pretty good and I'm not sure if it's my imagination but the throttle response is a lot better and it seems a lot more peppy!
