Judging by where it looks like it is in the image, I wonder if there might be another one in the crossover pipe for the left side

Funny you should ask because I was just about to ask that myself? If it's only the one on the right side it would be fairly easy to drill out but I'm not so sure about the left side. If it's only the right side it's fairly easy to get at because it's just straight through however I'm not sure if there is one on the left side where it would be. I only took the right side Muffler off so far.

Pulled the left muffler and there is another cat right where the muffler slips over the head pipe. Not sure if the solid round pipe inside the head pipe is removable and part of the cat or not. Either way I think tomorrows job is drilling out these two cats.

Managed to drill out both cats. The left side was very easy and only took 5 mins with a 1&1/8 spade bit however the right side was much longer so it took way longer and my bit was too short so had to use a longer but smaller 1/2 bit to finish it off. My only concern was when I got to the end on the right side there was a large chunk at the very back of the pipe that the shop vac would not reach or suck out. I tried a couple different long length tools but it ended up I believe falling back into the crossover. I don't see anything obstructing. However it's not to say that it's not falling down into the bottom part of the crossover pipe. I fired up the bike to see if the pressure would blow it out but only small bits and pieces came out not the large chunk unless it disintegrated on startup and I didn't see but I'm not sure. The only way now to find out is to use a endoscopy scope to run it through the pipe to see if there's an obstruction. I should have one here by the end of the day so I can check it out.

At wits end trying to get the baffles out. Need some ideas. Managed to get it flush with the end pipe by dropping continuously on a piece of plywood. I've got a puller with a hook on the end but unfortunately when I put it in there is absolutely nowhere for it to hook on. I've tried for a half an hour to get it to catch on something with no luck these things must be welded in there!!!

Why do you want to take the baffles out?

I thought they might be wrapped with insulation that I wanted to remove to get a little more sound, but now I see why the one won't come apart. The end cap is supposed to be screwed to the baffle. Had a hell of a time getting the end cap off the other Muffler but that's because it's attached to the baffle. Somebody has taken the screws off the end cap. The screws are missing. I guess part of the problems with buying a used bike is you just don't know what previous owner has done.

The three screws that hold the end cap on were in the muffler when I finally got the baffle out. I wondered what the rattling was that I would hear on the right side every now and then.

Received my scope this evening and ran it through the left side pipe! It appears there's a third cat in crossover pipe underneath the frame where the left pipe attaches to the right side! Just when I thought I was done!!!
