Replaced a 2008 Road King with a 23 Police Road King (standard Road King not being made). The styling seems not much changed but the ride and power certainly have improved. If you test ride one of the new ones, you might disregard the styling changes you don't care for.
Harley is a slave to cosmetics. When Willie G and the boobers are gone, things will change. Not saying I am a saint.
I like some of their new styling, but some things I could do without. I just don't like the fact that they are progressively making it more difficult to work on your own bike without having to order everything from the dealer or have to go to the dealer to have something "flashed" every time you make a change. As with everything else, the consumer will buy what they like and if Harley doesn't make those things, they will go out of business.
Rushmore, to my knowledge was just touring bikes. Frames changed in 2009.
I'm sure some will chime in, but the Rushmore Project was meant for enhancements to the entire Harley line. The touring family got the most enhancements from the start, but the Fat Bob got a new look and the Sporties got the optional ABS and security, among others, in 2014.

Styling can grow on you but as long as the bike is reliable is the question. If it is then it’s a great machine. Hate 2 spend 25k or more for a headache. I still remember when the 99 models came out and twin cams took over, motors were dying in 500 miles I remember at Americade brand new bikes blowing up
