Crazy anyone price a rear brake job on a Touring bike lately?

I suspect they are charging at least $150 / hr labor and I suspect it would be an hour labor to do the job. Then add in the parts cost and taxes and it gets to $250 fairly quickly.
I have what I believe is a bad rear wheel bearing on my Subaru Outback and the dealer wants 1 hour labor to check it out to be sure it's not tire noise as there is a litt bit of cupping. Their labor charge is $174 / hr, so $174 to check it, which largely means a short road test to confirm. Mabey put it on the lift and shake - spin the wheel a lilttle. If the bearing is bad, it's right at $600 P&L out the door if they don't find other things.
I could do the bearing myself, but I have a lot of things going on that keep me busy with things I'd rather be doing. But I may wait a little while because it's not very noisy and I have no road trips planned for that car.

I've only done brakes on twin cams, and never used goop or seen it.

Imagine the price if they stayed with the solid one piece rear caliper set up. Price would be triple since they have to pull the axle/wheel to remove the caliper. Being able to pop a saddlebag off and remove the caliper in 5 mins was a big upgrade for Harley.......... especially since the old Evo style was a two piece design as well and they went to the solid piece with early twin cams haha

even on twin cams the hd brake pad kit comes with paste and a template for application. it's to stop harmonic squeal. the front and rear pads are the same, but the paste/template changes the part number. and don't ask me why they don't think that the front pads could use anti-squeal paste?

My dealer replaced my rear pads and did not charge me.
I was getting new tires (Dunlop American Elites) and I brought the HD pads I bought and asked if they could put those on since the rear wheel was going to be off. They did it and never even charged me.
I can’t complain, they have always treated me good.
