One can never be too careful. It’s best to have your brain bucket certified by the DOT, DOD & the DOE. That way you’re covered against Tank head on collisions and EMP’s that waist electricity.

My stuff. All old. The Shoei and HJC have removable lining. The Dayton Carbon Fiber is a size small with 1/4" of foam shaved out. Then, it's XL with a DOT on it. I don't recommend that.

They are pretty quiet and super light. I love the Ruroc brand. They finally got it right with the Atlas 4.0 line as well as the new EOX helmets. There are only slight differences between the newer EOX line and the Atlas 4.0. One big difference though, is the EOX line has an internal slot for the Cardo comms unit. I am not sure exactly how this works since you need tactile access to the comms unit but it looks cool.

I have a few different helmets, but my favorite is the HD 98315-17VX made by Bell.
