It's happened to me also. Now I always push the bottom of the stand forward before leaning the bike over.

You want sloppy? How about not even putting it down? Came home after a ride and as the bike went past the point of no return realized the stand was still up

Held it up as long as I could while yelling at the 'ol lady to come into the garage. Finally, I slowly laid it down then got off and picked it up. Luckily, the bike only had a small scuff on the bottom of the primary...

Kinda reminds me of my old boss. Jiffy spring broke on a ride and had to wait to get to a gas station to somehow lean it on the pumps to rig it till he got home to replace it. I carry one in the bag now..

I was washing my Road King this weekend when I went to move the bike forward so I could get at a fresh spot on the rims. Usually I just push the bike around with the stand down, but Im tired of scratching up my driveway. I lifted the bike to about 75 degrees upright, rolled it forward and put it back down. You all see this coming......the stand had come out of its slot. As the bike dropped below its usual height, all I could say was 'Oh SHEET" and hold it upright with all my might. I managed to keep the bike off the crash bars but I pulled my bicep muscle doing so. My arm is sore as he// but the bike is unscathed. Pay attention gents, this stuff only works right if you are paying attention.

And now back to your regularly scheduled programing.
But if nobody saw it happen........did it really happen?? Would have sucked more ,if you did it in front a bunch of other people......

It happens, we all do stuff like that once in a while.

I'm in the group that says once it falls beyond a certain point, just let it go. I don't want to pull a muscle or hurt my back that'll take months to heal just to save some scratches on the bottom of my engine & saddlebag guards. That's what they're there for and no one will see the scratches on the bottom anyway.

Once and only once did I try to stop/slow down a HD touring bike with me still on it as it went over.
After pulling a groin muscle in that leg from trying that stunt, and finding out that engine and saddle bag guards will prevent anything from being damage when it does go down, now find myself putting the bike on the guards if I need to wrench on something under the bike while on the road doing a repair.

Hence close to 1K pound bike, and it start to go past the point of no return, let it go, since guards will protect the bike, and can use your back and both legs to get it back up in the end.

At least you were home and didn't have to try to ride somewhere after that. Heal up. Been there done that.

happens to the best of us, man! I always try to make sure that the stand is lined up before leaning it over.

My turn.

Parked mine on the gas pump last week...
And I do mean, ON the gas pump. Front forks cocked all the way to the left when it went down. Just failed to deploy the kickstand.

I’m 6’3 225”, but I’m also 68, and it was absolutely all I could do because of where it was and how it was situated to get it back up on the stand. Took me four tries.
I thought I was going to have a heart attack it was so hot that day. Instead I determined I just got a hernia, which was just repaired two summers ago. Went to the surgeon on Monday. No hernia. Just strained the shiite out of my groin, and *****.
