Any way to reduce the heat coming off the exhaust?
2009 Ultra Classic with a 103 big bore kit and full python exhaust (I assume the head pipes are python sine the cans are, but I know there are no cats) and a Cobra fi2000 Pwrpro tuner.
At moderate city speeds (avg 60km/hr or 37 mph) the heat on the right side is almost unbearable. Even at highway speeds, on a hot day I can still feel it on my calves, but its tolerable. If I have a stiff tailwind, I can feel the heat hovering around the engine and it can become uncomfortable very quickly.
I've installed a 1 inch tank lift on the front, spacer for the floor boards to move my feet out a little more (that was more for comfort than to deal with the heat). I'll probably remove the vent doors on the lowers to try and allow a little more air flow through? I never close them anyway...
Just wondering if anyone has any insight into any of this, I love the bike, but when the temps get up around 30C (86F) you almost can'tt ride it in the city for any length of time.
Cheers all!

I wondered about the tuner actually, it came on the bike when I bought it, my understanding is it senses and adjusts on the fly, not a set tune that gets loaded to it? Supposedly I can see what it's doing with an app, but I've yet to get it to work. Not sure if I would be better off going to a different tuner, and haven't found anyone with any real world experience with one of these

Design Engineering has heat shield liners that attach to the bottom side of the heat shields. I don't know if they have liners for that exhaust, but they do have some universal kits that may work. I know of people who have used them with their OEM exhaust and say they helped a lot.

Could be the tune is not quite right.
I've got a 2011 TC96 with V&H Dresser Duals and Cobra Race Pro slip-ons.
Also have a Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather air cleaner.
I originally had the HD Stage 1 downloaded tune and it ran hot most of the time.
I installed a V&H FP3 tuner with their canned tune for my setup.
It runs noticeably cooler now and also has more power.
