Default Carbon helmets

Due to neck issues I am looking at carbon half helmets and wondering are they much lighter than a regular helmet?

If its a half helmet, youll get half the protection, even if its carbon fiber.......................... You said its "carbon?" Be aware, there are many fake carbon fiber products , fake "quality" helmets, even numerous fake ballistic helmets out there

why not post a link?

Whatever you do, get a helmet that is real and protects: If your gonna wear one, why not?....

Yes! I’ve got a damaged and degenerative spinal problem and had c3/c4/c5 fused 2001. The doc says the next discs in line are compressed and degraded but advised me to live with and manage the pain since I won’t have much mobility if they get fused too.
A lightweight helmet and windshield are the only way I can continue to ride any length of time without severe pain ….
I have a carbon fiber HJC 1/2 helmet and the lightest modular helmet made at the time which is an AGV Sportmodular and have over 100k miles on the scoots since that 2001 surgery. I rarely take pain reliever meds which would alleviate pain as I feel like I need to know what my physical limitations are …..

Default Weight

Every website I’ve been on looking for a helmet lists the weight of each helmet!

2 days ago I purchased the Harley brawler full face helmet ( gift card) which is carbon fiber. It’s pricey but there is a significant difference between the carbon fiber and my modular which is also Harley branded. Both I believe are scorpion made just with a Harley logo. I may be wrong but I think it is over a pound lighter if I remember the numbers correctly. A pound makes a huge difference on your head.

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but how do you find the AGV Sportmodular Carbon? Reason I ask is my wife suffered a head injury (concussion) some years ago and weight (or lack of) on her head is crucial to her riding enjoyment.
First I ordered her a Shoei Neotec II. She liked it but too heavy...the weight actually makes her nauseous. Next, I thought carbon so got her the new HJC RPHA91 Carbon. It didn't feel much lighter but she tried it on...no go.
Put it on a scale and the HJC Carbon at 1627 grams actually weighs a bit more than the Shoei Neotec II (1624 grams)?? Returned the HJC RPHA91 Carbon.

So to the OP...not all carbon is light. For what it's worth, currently my wife has the Harley Lucid 1/2 helmet that she likes and works. It's one of the lighter HD helmets. Her Small with Cardo PackTalk comm system weighs 1027 grams.

I posted this here because when doing a google search I was surprised at how many cheap carbon helmets were available. As of yet I have not visited any helmet sites.

Just weighed my modular, The AGV Sportmodular carbon is 1546 grand with my Sena speakers and Sena clamp attached…their website says 1390 grams in the smallest shell size. I’ve had this helmet since the 2019 season and still my long distance helmet.
Half helmet weights 1024 with the Sena clamp on it ….my hot weather choice.
