Default Street Glide vs Standard

How big is the difference in ground clearance in corners between these two? May be my deciding factor.

Only difference in street glide over other touring models is they run 1" shorter rear air shocks.

Sit on or ride both bikes. Your body will tell you which one. I would say go with the SG but that is the one I liked the best. I think the SG seat height is one inch lower but that is probably because of the shocks.

Seat on street glide will lower you another 1" or more being less thick than the standard seat too. Harleys site gives seat height on SG at 26.3 and standard at 29.3, but suspension wise they are only 1 inch different due to rear shocks.

I do most of my riding in the mountains andhave a tendency to hit those corners pretty hard, so I wanted the extra height that the FLHT provides in order to minimize scrapping the boards. I believe that the seat on the standard is also a bit thicker/taller.You might want to make your choice based onyour physical stature and style/location of the majority of your riding. On the other hand, there are always mods..... You're gonna like which ever one you choose. Have fun!

Having had both SG and EG, I'll say this: For cool looks, the SG has it, and for solo riding it handles great! You may scrape the footboards once in a while; no biggie. If you're going to do much touring, or two-up riding, the EG has the edge.

Opinions may vary

I just couldn't get comfortable on the SG with the smaller floorboards, so I went with the Standard. Sure I don't have a black motor but it still looks cool to me.

I think that the standard is one of the best buys out there....but i'm biased.
