Used lifters and cams
#11
I've used the old S&S Premium lifters with good results. I wouldn't hesitate to use Fueling lifters, but never have.
However, I've been using the 2313SE Hylift Johnson Lifters from WFO Larry ( Larry's Motorcycle and Machine) for many years now.

I'd have no issue ordering the parts from Larry but I'm just concerned about how much more I would have to pay once Canadian dollar conversion, taxes, customs and brokerage fees and shipping are rolled in. Also not sure how long it would take to get them here in Ontario Canada.

Buying used lifters is like buying a used oil filter..
The seller can probably take good enough pictures of the cam to determine its condition.. But,, the reason for selling the W7 cam is because it's noisy.. I've bought Woods cams cheap used because the previous owner could not set the cams up to not make noise.

The whole point is to replace the lifters BEFORE I do any distance riding given the fact that I have no history on this bike whatsoever. I wouldn't want to take a chance doing a 7 hour trip and having the current lifters grenade on me. Perhaps I'm being over paranoid but with all the posts I've read concerning the 110 lifter issues it's got me a little freaked out. If there is no noise coming from the top end should I be this paranoid or just ride it as normal and replace the lifters as soon as I I have the chance?

I forget about the hoops you have to jump through to buy from a US company in Canada...
It's almost as ridiculous as trying to buy performance parts and get them to California...

You'll suffer with the CDN dollar in the toilet but he will ship USPS. While people in the US have issues with USPS in the states, it works flawless to Canada. Small $12? charge to collect taxes and sometimes the Canada border services lets them thru with no charge. Usually a week from Larry to BC. There is also much better cam choices than the 7.

I like the SE tapered adjustable pushrods

You can also use Chevy LS lifters. S&S are okay but they aren’t like the old premiums. I would buy the 2313SE lifters from Larry because they have oiling to roller axles.
