And have a dedicated safe place for the tank until you put it back on the bike.

Thanks for being a good sport about this. Fix My Hog is a bit like Dr. Google. Not the best source for accurate information. Not bad if you are into conspiracy theories though.

2 Spark plugs for you, keep the other 2 for next time. Please do not hesitate to ask anymore questions, or advise. There are a lot of good people on here.

I change plugs every 15k to 20 k just because.
And when I read about the tank deal I thought you had to remove the entire tank just to replace plugs.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Removing the tank on a newer bike really is a piece of cake. i don't understand why some find this so daunting.

I've only removed tanks on my 81 shovel which is a bit time consuming.
I dont have any experience with newer models which may be much easier to deal with.
So perhaps my response was unwarranted.

Bunch of my friends have 4 spark plugs in their shovelheads, does that count ? And it's not in their service manuals.

Only takes a couple minutes to loosen and spin the tank around for plug access.
I thought it was 30k miles or every two yrs. The two yrs thing came out as a tech bulletin.
