I spent 50 years hating baggers.. hating fishtails. Performance performance performance for every bike. Now 53 the wife says, one for me. “Something I can jump on the back of that’s about my comfort.”

Also having a desire to ride up and down both coasts..

So I bought a Road king, had to decide what I like and respect outside of performance. Growing up my childhood memories are filled with my best friends dad’s bikes. Cadillac tail lights, fishtails… If I’m doing it, I’ve never been subtle.

Love it. I’ts all about that 68 Electra glide I grew up seeing.

Someday I will replace some gaskets. That card board is a year and a half worth of drips plus what I spilled when I used that piece for oil changes for my car.

There are no points for cross threading anything. Avoid it at all costs.

I always thought they were cheesy myself but if you like them it's all that matters it's your ride.

About 30 years ago the "Live to Ride, Ride to Live" was a meaningful thing to people. Today, not so much. But not everyone looks at that the same way though. For example...some folks used to like to hang a brass 'tinkerbell' from the front of their frame. I assumed it was to let other bikers know they were gay! Turns out its not true, it only looks that way!

I like em but if it's something out of style for today, I'll shy away from them.
I do admit they look cool mixed with the chrome on my bike.
I don't know about "in style" or not. All I can say is that when I bought my 2009 EG It was covered with "Live to ride" parts and I couldn't get that stuff yanked off and replaced fast enough. To me they screamed that the 90's wanted their bike back! On the other hand, it's your ride, put on it what you like.

Isn't it more of a statement then a fad?

Just like your Aviator, its a little confusing and means different things to different people.

It can be a very bold statement.

One usually reserves bold statements to what's important to them.
