There is an engineering formula for this question: Live to Ride; Ride to Live = Blackout Engine and Exhaust = < 0.

It’s your bike. Do what you want to it. Freck others’ opinions.

It’s not ugly, it’s a bit nostalgic. I think it still has a place in someone’s taste. They still sell it soit must still be a little in style. Looks better than some **** People are putting on vehicles . Specially the multicolor flags.

Don’t worry about what others think. Life is too short. If you like them use them.

There are some who will disagree most probably.

I see the Live to Ride and the Screaming Eagle stuff as a bit garish. The big One or the Bar & Shield are classier, to me.
Other folks might find the L2R & Eagle stuff more artistic and the 1 or bar & shield boring.

So in the end it’s just personal taste and I’m glad it’s all out there… it’s why I enjoy walking through a parking lot of bikes.

Also the red, white and blue #1 screams 1970 to me. I think it was used along with the slogan The Great American Freedom Machine.

My vote: Outdated

But there is truth in the live to ride statement.
And agree with post 17 the #1 screams 1970.

Big number one was a Shovelhead thing. The logo was originally designed to celebrate the 1969 AMA Grand National Championship for flat track racing and later adopted the stars and stripes motif. It became a big part of the company's brand image in the 1970s.
