Default front tire 19 electraglide

getting ready to replace tires on my 19 electraglide standard
stock front tire is BW130/80B17 65H has anyone used a BW140/7517 as an upgrade

5.23 width vs 5.76 width overall diameter the same they recommend a 3.5 " rim mines only a 3"

1. Probably best to stick with what is recommended in your Owner's Manual.
2. Why do you want a wider tire?
3. If you could fit a wider tire, it would affect your handling and fall-a-way going into corners.
4. Why do you consider the wider tire an upgrade?

if you read the reviews of a real wide tire kit ( a 180 in the front) they rave about it the improved handling i would like the look,
i agree about the fall away etc, most tire rim combos are very consertvative especially cars and trucks, but i would be conservative myself when it comes to bikes. was just wondering if anyone has done it. before harley started doing it stock
in the 200s everyone used to put 150s on the rear in place of 130s with wide tire kits without changing rims

Because a 150/80-16 is an Allowed (Recommended) Tire Size for a 3" wide rim ... a 140/75 -17 is NOT

Just throw some Metzler Marathon 888's on there, they handle great and wear well.
I'm running them on my '19 Std.

I went from 3" to 3.5" on my 06 STglide with no issues.
