Default What replacement shocks for Road King??

Hey Guys, this is my first post. This forum is awesome! Thanks for all future help. I am interested in replacing my ugly black stock air shocks on my 03 Road King Classic. I am a robust 270 and my wife is 140. Any ideas on how to retain near stock height and get some nice chrome air shocks? Id like to ditch the black ones for chrome when I ride with my saddlebags off.

Progressive 440's you cant go wrong. I weigh 180 and ride solo 99% of the time. I have 412's on mine and love them.No more air leaking down. And looks great W/o bags. JimmyZ

You can get chrome replacement air shocks from Eastern Performance Cycles for about 150 bucks. They look exactly like the stockers, except in chrome.

I wouldn't worry about getting chrome shocks for when you ride with the saddlebags off. The bike is gonna be ugly either way.

I like these. They seem to offer a plush ride.

I went withWorks Performance Street Trackers 12.5" shocks for my Street Glide. These are awesome shocks; raised my bike .5" and workgreat. They have dual rate springs, come set up for your body weight, riding stlyeand come inseveral finish options. http://www.worksperformance.com/html/street.html

Sometimes, but finding the leak and fixing it is no big deal. I am on my second set of stock shocks in 67k miles. Neither set leaked. I can pump them up and find the air still there months later.

Second set? Here is why.I learned the hard way that theyrust around the rubber boot at the bottom. The bottom of mine were about to rust thru after about 5 years. To prevent this on the newer set, I keep some oil under the boot.
