The worst thing about changing your own fluids is getting rid of the waste.

I can see that. I am fortunate to have always worked in or managed large shops. I store mine in 5 gal buckets, and dump it into a 1000 gal waste oil tank at work.

Our local landfill takes waste oil in 5 gallon buckets with the lids on them, you might ask about that in your area. Some auto parts stores also offer this service.

We have an Advance Auto Parts all over this part of Florida. They have a big tank in the back. Works pretty good. Now, if I could get my kids to take THEIR old oil to the store!

if that’s the worst thing then it’s pretty simple. With all the auto parts stores, Walmart auto centers, and everything in between, there’s no shortage of places to empty the oil and dispose of the empty containers and filters.

wtf? and you're bringing in all your own fluids (?) so what exactly does this 70k service entail? and what model/year?

2016 FLHXS. It's listed as Touring 10k service that dealer does + whatever is recommended in the manual.

If only...I would happily let someone like that do my maintenance when I'm short of time.

I should probably check an indy but I do like to go to dealer shop and hang out once in a while. I live in the boonies so it's like a get away for me.

Yeah it does sound excessive, But fortunately it doesn't cost me anything. So I don't mind.
