Default New 2023 Ultra Limited - melted plug beside tranny cover

Howdy all,

Yesterday I just brought home a new 2023 Ultra Limited. It was raining today so I thought I go over it real good and put a coat of wax on it. When I was waxing on the right exhaust pipe near the transmission cover I noticed some black carbon like material fall on the floor. When I looked closer I noticed a loose electrical plug that had touched the exhaust pipe had melted. It looked like it wasn't plugged into anything but I can't be sure.

Here is a picture of the plug.

Does anyone know what this plug is for? I'm guessing some sort of diagnostics. I emailed the pictures to the dealership and will await their reply but I thought I'd post this pic in case someone either knows what it is or wants to check their bike to make sure theirs isn't loose.

I could be wrong, but I think it’s for the optional CoolFlow Fan.

Wouldn't that be a riot! The plug for the fan that is needed to cool the thing down melted!

Maybe it was touching something hot and not being tied off?

It appears to have a clip that is meant to be used to secure it to something like brake line. My guess is they didn't clip it in properly at the factory.

It looks like it's supposed to be clipped to the vent line that's zip tied to above.

Glad it’s a new bike.

Warranty

Hopefully that is all they dropped the ball on in assemble and the famous dealership setup and inspection.

While you have it in for warranty replacement of the plug end and proper mounting of the clip and zip tie, have them fix the rubber boot on your starter so it covers the terminal end correctly.

I hope to heck nobody tried to jump start the thing with that terminal. I went ahead and seated it correctly.

As far as dealer assembly goes I can't blame the dealer I bought it from. I wanted one of the last remaining 23 models when I found out they didn't make any 24 Ultra Limiteds in chrome so they had to go to the dealer over in Raleigh to get this one for me.

In my opinion a Harley without chrome is blasphemy. I've already got enough sin in my life as it is I don't need to be adding to it.

Looks like the dealer did not do a good PDI that you may have been charged for!
What else did they miss?
