Default Problem with Kury adj passenger pegs

I bought a set used, there the older style that don't latch, just swing forward or backwards. The right side works like a champ but the left side hits the inspection plate. Does anyone have any experience with them? Do I have to shim the passenger board out? I have the "Live to Ride" cover on my'06 Road King Classic, maybe that makes a difference.

There is a longer footboard bracket available from Kuryakin for use with Rinehart True Duals, maybe that would do it for you to move it outward.

I have the new set that Kuryakin makes and when I do an oil change I have to remove the whole footboard and peg. I wish H-D would come up with something else then that.. But it just adds to the little wrench time that I spend on it so that is no big deal..

I have a set similar to the pingels and I don't have to move anything to take off my derby cover
