Installed a new battery. Every now and then it would be a bit hard to start. It would crank fine but just not start. I hooked my fluke up to the charging port and cranked the bike it would drop below 10 volts for bit during cranking. Its resting voltage was 12.7+ so capacity must be going.
Installed a YUASA. GYZ32HL instead of going to the dealer for a Harley battery this time. Seems like the replacement periodicity has been getting shorter with my Harley batteries . |

My Nano was loaded with about 1000 songs, The iPod 20 (with a hard dive) has 15,000 but can't take the vibration. My new iPhone and a blue tooth receiver, does very well with Spotify. I loaded about 1000 songs in a play list and Spotify seems to be intuitive and plays songs that are similar as well. The free version plays commercials and I may end up paying for it to get rid of the commercials and I'd get better sound quality too.

Isn't that a GREAT feeling!!
My 81 shovelhead is so damn finicky! There are days she'll surprise me and fire up with the pedal all the way down at 7 oclock! Then there are days she gets an attitude and won't talk to me at all after 10+ attempts! I really don't understand why. After 38 years together you'd think she'd stop giving me a hard time! Usually 3 primer kicks, with open choke, close choke, put ignition on and start kickin....and hope for the best. Haven't taken her out for a bit cause the tires are older then I trust.....been having a hard time finding the Avon MK 11s. Not many places carry them and when they do they're back ordered. I run the rear tire front and back. What do you have on the PH? Shinko 270 Super Classic Tires. They looked like old school tires and handle better than the old school tires that were manufactured in USA back in1992 , that the Shinkos replaced. |

I think your onto something with Spotify Mongo. I already had the app on my phone but never activated it. I just did it and went out to the bike and paired it right up to the Glide since it is Bluetooth capable. It hooked up to my phone right away and I could control everything with the bike controls. I can see a Spotify subscription in my future so I don't have to deal with commercials. Plus my son says I can download music to my phone using Spotify at home and build a library. This way I won't burn through data when I'm riding if the music is on my phone already.
I can't control it unless I have the Blue tooth receiver ink my hand, I keep it tucked away in a windshield pouch and let play in shuffle mode. I could put my phone on the perch mount and do the same thing but I'm good with letting the thing run in shuffle mode. I have an unlimited service, I "should" be OK with the streaming. I guess I'll need to go all in too. If I add my riding play list to my phone, then I'd be good in a pinch in the mountains and loose service. |

It is cool that you can do that.

I just read the installation instructions on the Hog Tunes website and they suggest plugging your device in the USB port vs using Bluetooth for better sound quality.
If you sign up for the premium you will get 3 months free. I just did. The lack of the retarded tide pod commercials will be a nice relief. I'm adding more songs to me Ride list too. |

Time - Serts
Stripped out the oil pan drain plug so had to lift the bike up enough to get my arms and hands with a drop light to drill out the hole larger with the Time Sert kit. There isn't alot of room between the oil pan and the engine case to use a ratchet, only a open end wrench. Same thing with the groove making tool, and with the tap. Screwing in the sert then using the tool to screw that in until it bottoms out. Each tool I had to use a different size wrench. This was all time consuming for sure. Drilling and taping the hole took about an hour and 1/2. Funny part was putting the oil back in, the funnel slipped so now I had at least a quart of oil on the ground to clean up. After all this I now only have some oil dripping off the frame and no leaks.
