Hydraulic Clutch Installed

Yes, the White Brothers kit is easier and cheaper. But, with the WB kit, you still have the clutch cable and it's routing which is very ugly on the Road King. The hydraulic clutch eliminates the cable and gives you a new generation clutch which has been on other bikes for about 10 years.

[sm=smiley25.gif] You still have to route the hydraulic line. Are you saying a hydraulic line looks better that a clutch cable?

Actually, compared to the cable, the hydraulic line does look better. First of all, it's very flexible and therefore can be routed through the top of the headlamp nacelle and out the bottom - under the right engine guard. There's very little visible near the handlebars which suits me fine since my wiring is all internally located inside the handlebars. Isn't the WB kit nothing more than a centrifugal clutch, btw? Like my old go-cart used? Just curious.

It lengthens the arm on the inner ramp of the clutch release cover assy. The increased length increases torque because it moves the cable contact point further from the fulcrum.

Yes, gsparesa, the line looks better. On the Road King, the cable is attached to the left side of the headlight. When you turn left or lock the forks, the cable buldges out. With the hydraulic clutch, and especially with a black line line I got, the hose is routed along the handlebars and into the headlight shell. I bought the black/chrome unit, hydraulic hose (black), and the master cylinder cap kit. All three, with a 20% discount, totaled about $425.00. I did the labor.
