IDS (cush drive) isn't exactly new
I knew cush drive wasn't new, as the Japanese have been using it for years, but I didn't know it was quite this old. HD had to dip way back in motorcycle annals for this technology. It apparently appeared first on the 1912 Royal Enfield.

It's standard on '08 FLH's and is available for '07's as an aftermarket kit. There's lots of discussion about it here under "IDS" and "Isolation Drive System."
