If I’m not mistaken, 2007 should still have the air shocks? 2018 have the hand adjustables. I recall the air shocks in my 2005 FLHTCI sucked, but the hand adjustables sucked even more on my 2017 FLTRU. Even the cheapest Progressive 412s were an improvement

Maybe it's just me, been riding motorcycle since 1963, Early years hard tails, then a few pans, some shovels and so on. Motor Co made lots of improvements along the way. Everyone is complaining about just about everything they do and sometimes me too. But over the years I have enjoyed the bikes. I think the biggest complaint is suspension, did you ever think that's the way HD wants it, and for me I have never had a complaint about the ride. Now I did get sucked into buying a set of Bitiubo shocks, That was 700 wasted some improvement but not 700 worth, the ride on my 2019 Ultra Limited wasn't that bad to start with. My bikes are not garage queans I run in my bikes, the older I get only about 15000 a year now. I think the aftermarket has us all thinking if you don't do it your screwed. So I'm happy over the years with my Harleys that's why I keep buying them, and for all of you that keep complaining about just about everything on your bikes I say go buy a Honda or some other kind of Jap, or English bikes maybe you will be happy

First mod to any year Touring bike should be front and rear suspension…there’s components and systems to be had for all budgets. From a couple hundred $$ to a couple thousand $$, pay for what you get here 1,000%.

You should be running 36 front and 40 rear. Is the wear on your tires uneven?

Couple PSI on the tires isn’t gonna make that much difference, it will a bit and you may notice it but not a huge difference. Shocks will be the game changer.
Are you trying different preloads on your current shocks?

I agree!
My riding is mostly under 55 mph, one up, back road, hilly, curvy and the surface varies from patchwork pavement to very nice pavement to slurry mix pavement. I’m 63 6’1” 205lbs.
I usually keep my longer loops under 225 miles and 7-8 hour days. Lots of 100 mile 3 hour loops! When I was younger it was 400 miles and 10-12 hour days. With stops I’ve always averaged about 30-35 mph.

I feel the road under me on my ‘97 & ‘01 RKs, and I get a little bit of rear end wiggle in big sweepers at high speed… I enjoy feeling the bike under me.

I think anyone complaining of stock setups should be required to outline how and where they use their bike and their physical stats. Everything’s not just “bike sucks”

I replaced the shocks on my ‘97 with Progressive 944’s when the stockers failed. I didn’t notice much difference.

Came VERY close to spending $1000 on rear shocks on my 2019 FLHR
Even ordered some 1 night right before bed and order did not go thru because debit card stopped it @ 1k, but never re-ordered....

I soon ordered and installed a 200/50/18 rear tire for traction problems with the 128". (no mods and factory approved fit).

MUCH better riding tire than the hard 180/55/18 Dunflop,

Bike NOW rides as good as the the touring bikes with the 16" rear wheel.

If I had spent $1000 on new shocks and the bike had changed as drastic, I would still be calling them best shocks EVER, but my tire is my HERO!!!
"AND" traction issue solved as the Dunflop would not stick, which means braking has to be better as well. HARD TIRES SUCK < PERIOD!!!
