Default ~ 30F Cooler engine for $20 - this worked for me!!!

I am not taking credit for this one - MNPGRider turned me on to this $20 el cheapo upgrade:

Check it outhttps://www.hdforums.com/m_2105129/tm.htm

The fork holes are alreadythere on an '05 Ultra and it is a nice piece of OEM chrome.

Today I experimented and documented a test of this piece with my Wally's oil temp gauge.

Drove around for two hours - ambient was 70F - engine went to 210F - 220F.

Drove the same route for two hours - after the install - ambient was 80F - engine went 175F - 185F.

At least 25F to 35F cooler??? Amazing.

Based on that nonscientific study - this little minor upgrade looks to be a winner.

It does direct the "fork winds" more towards the engine rather than up into your face.

Wonder why Harley removed them - anybody got a clue???

You hot Ultras should try it - you might like it - I'm sold - can't beat the price

I think this has been hashed out before but it came stock in black on my 2000 EG, they stopped installing them to get you to pay $20.

I have one and took it off recently. Manual says to remove if temp is over 70*.
I didn't notice it get any cooler when I removed it but it didn't make things worse.

It's already in the picture--That's what it is! Look under your forks, and you will see three thread holes in the lower backside of the triple tree. It bolts on in there, and directs the annoying updraft someplace else.

Is it shaped like a 1/2 circle? Sort of like 1/2 a bowl upside down? or is it bullet shaped?
