Now, that would make sense as well, as there is definitely more air flow about the facewith it off !

You can still get them in black. They are about 10 bucks. The part number is 58520-79A.

Here it is from Chicago HD:

58520-79A

FRONT WHEEL AIR BAFFLE
Retail Price:$12.70
Our Price:$10.16
I wonder why if these are still available, it will not pull up on the HD main site? Any ideas?

Likely because it is not in the P&A catalog.

Big Daddy thats is what it is for, stops the air from coming up your chest and
messing up the beard. Took mine off 7 years ago and never looked back.

I am picking one up on the way home tonight, Does anyone know the tap size of the holes?

ORIGINAL: robandlyn

I picked up 2 for our bikes on Saturday but need to get a tap to clean out the holes first.

If I remember correctly, 1/4 - 20 with 1/2" bolt. Some have used 3/4" long but ran into some problems.

as u know bynow.. that baffle was stock on the "older" hd's. The moco took em off as they said the motor will run cooler without em. Im riding ultras and classics since 1993.. had 5 different models .. no difference in heat.. The old Evo was a much cooler running motor. (not necessarily a better motor) just cooler. The 88 was a bit hotter. The 96 is hetter yet.. More cubes more heat. period!
