Default STREET glide special or ROAD glide special?

Got a round the town Harley.
Planning on 18in. Apes, 21, 23, 25in. Front wheel on new bike
What size wheel is too big for road trips, and what Bike, Street or Road and I will be happiest with?
THANKS!!
Albert

just my honest opinion but the apes seem tall and the front wheel seems big for handling and rideability. the biggest front wheel I would go with for trips is 21inch and the apes depend on your height and arm length. Now for the grand finale only YOU can make answer the question of street or road glide, i would suggest going to test ride a couple.

Best of luck!!

18" are tall for a bike you're planning on touring with, and even a 21" wheel without a lower kit in the front to compensate, will ride like crap. Sounds like you want a big wheel bagger, not a touring bike.

As far as the RG vs SG, I've owned both and I like them both, but if I had to choose again at this point, I like the RG. But I build a performance bike, not a show bike and my reason for liking it are for the reasons of the type of bike it became.

What I mean is; there's no wrong choice, so get what makes you happy, and you enjoy.

If you’re far from home, you might have a tough time getting a replacement tire in an emergency for anything over 21”. Most shops don’t keep them in stock.
As for bars, I went 14” on my Road Glide. 16” would work for me too but I think the 18 would get tiring on long runs.
I’ve owned Street Glide and Road Glide. I like em both but the Shark nose handles a lot better in most situations IMHO.

I'd say no more than 14", defeats some of the fairing purpose for long rides. 21" front wheel and you don't have to change much, from what I understand.

Either look pretty and bar hop, or stay standard and go riding on long trips.

Ride safe!!

You need to ask yourself - Do I want to look cool or be comfortable... As for the which bike, I cant answer that..
