RE: idle
My 03 EG drops to a low idle intermittently. Checked IAC and other items suggested on this forum and can't find anything. Have found that if I turn on the ignition, hit the run switch - wait for the fuel pressure/engine light to go out - count to five (allows the IAC time to complete the step procedure) and then start bike I seldom have the idle problem. If I use this procedure the bike always steps the idle up to 1200 RPM (or so) then steps down to 1000 RPM when properly warmed up. If the bike idle doesn't respond this way on start up it will almost always have the low idle problem you described. Waiting 5 seconds might be worth a try....just my 2 cents worth.

The I.A.C. resets every-time you key on or cycle the run switch. My DTT ECM outlines this to try and avoid improper boot procedure's as a problem with the system. It`s a computer operated system and all ECM, PCM`s have a boot up.
It`s a good habit everyone should get into when operating newer/injected bikes.
