Does anyone know for sure whats up with 08 bike deliveries? My bike had a scheduled ship date of the 23rd. The saleman still shows a schedule date of the 23rd but it hasn't been built yet. Street Glide with ABS, cruise and security. He thinks the ABS is the problem but isn't sure.

 

The dealer here has an '08 SG with ABS...

 

Currently..all touring bikes..regardless of ABS or not are running three weeks behind in production.

 

I got my '08 with ABS two weeks ago.

 

The sales manager confirmed my Ultra with ABS shipped this week which is a week behind schedule.

 

Cool. looks like they are getting caught up. Mine was delayed three weeks and that was no abs.

 

With the new Brembo brake systems, do you guys really feel the ABS isneeded ? I never had ABS on a bike so I can't speak from experience.

 

From what my dealer told me ,he had been on phone with them several times and the parts that were holding them up had arrived and they were catching up but as someone said earler it wasnt just abs it was all touring bikes.Mine is supposed to ship Monday but I am mnot holding my breath .I am expecting a week delay but still hoping

 

I for one would like to ride one with ABSto see. Comiing from a bike with linked brakes, I am having to learn to stay away from the rear brake during reaction stops.I have only had this bike for a month, I have managed to drag the rear wheel 3 or 4 times.

I don't know what the big deal is with theBrembo. Maybe in comparison to the old brakes they are good, but in comparison to my last bike, they don'tseem to stop any any better. And make acrap load of noise in the process.
