Sign a Waiver????????

Sign a Waiver????????
Here's the deal.......got a small nail smack dab in the center of the front tire (only 5,600 miles on the tire). Take it to the dealer to put in a new tube. Guy calls me and says it's going to be $252.00. What???? $252.00 to put in a tube? - That's replacing the tire - why do Ineed a new tire? He says if they don't replace the tire, that it's on me, and I would have to sign a waiver telling them I understood the dangers, etc. Has anyone else run into this? Am I stupid, or do I need a new front tire just becauseof a nail? Would you sign the waiver?

RE: Sign a Waiver????????
Unless you absolutely don't have the money, just replace the tire. That's just me, but you only have two connections to the road. My truck, that thing gets patched all day long, the bike though... different critter! Be safe when in doubt. Call around though if you have several dealers/shops nearby. Always good to have some more opinions and prices. I know we would all hate to hear some horror story from you in a few weeks/months from now. JMO.
