RE: Sign a Waiver????????
So I take the majority's advice - tell him to just tube it, and I'll sign the waiver when I get back. I show up, the tire is fixed, and guess what, no waiver to sign. Nobody even said a word about it! I think the guy was just Bullchittin' to upsell me to a new tire.
thanks for all the help

RE: Sign a Waiver????????
I'd tube it and not worry a bit.
There is alot of life left in that tire. I got 39k miles out of my original on my Road King. The second one had 25k on it and looked great when I took it off. I only changed it because I had a new replacement sitting around that was getting some age on it.

With over 5K mi tread depth + the nail hole size could be factors. Don't know how you ride but I go thru a front tire every 5-6K.

I get 20000+ out of a front tire, and 11000 out of a rear tire.

RE: Sign a Waiver????????
safety 1st, its not worth the money savings, i had a front tire go down to 5psi on me i went into a wobble and almost crashed, it kept me off a bike for 8 years, im a little wiser now, tire or tubes never go the cheap way its not worth it in the long run, especially if you have a spouse and kids depending on you for theyre lively hood just my 2 cents.

Related to one of the questions, here... What is the material and the survice provider for sealing spoke nipples on the wheel's rim so that regular tubeless CAN be used on a normal, spoked wheel...
I know that it's been mentioned in the forums before and wonder if anyone here has used that mod and how they (or others) may feel about it!
Thanks!
Jim aka kiltiemon (I prefer the traditional look of spoked wheels but really want to be able to "plug and play" (if I should get a flat), at least long enough to get me to a bike shop for a new tire!!!)
