The '05 had a one year only valve seal change that didn't work and HD ended up paying for replacements--if you want the '05 check to see if the dealer mod was done or not. The '06 has better flowing heads also.

Also, a new '07 leftover RG would probably be available for about $16,500 plus sales tax.
I have a '05 rk custom. I haven't had this issue. And hopefully wont. I bought mine 15 months ago with 770 miles on it. Not bad for a (at the time) one year old bike. I paid $16.5 for it, and I feel fine with the price I paid. It may have been a bit high, but when I saw it, I knew it was the one, and the price was not going to stop me from getting it. If you are looking at the '05, and are worried about the price being $16.5,I would say keep looking. Obviously that is not your bike. When you find 'your' bike, you will know and will have no problem paying the price for it, IMHO.

I didn't think they would finance me but they did a little more $$ a month than I was looking to spend. I got my 06 with 3,000 miles for 18,something first ofAug. last year. If that helps. But if the bike is what you want GET IT.

Maybe if I can get the Finacing I will go with a 2008 Dark Blue Pearl

Well Gentleman, I couldn't get the financing. I need a Co-signer and I don't have one so the wait continues.

'06 also had the first 50 amp charging system. Up from 40 amp I believe.

06 has a 46mm TB vs 44mm on 02 ~ 05.

06 "esay pull" clutch has a soft spring that is VERY easy to make slip when you add much power.

05 has 4.3gm/sec injectors, 06 has 3.9 - even the 25degree replacements

8degree injectors on 06's were often problematic

06's ran HOT off showroom floor, 05's did not

PCIII has delayed start issues on 06's, not on 05's

Wiring harness changed in 06 to the channel that runs under the tank

PhilM... thanks for the information.... has the 46 mm TB been a plus or was the 44mm a better TB?

Thanks,
