Default What Cam To Use on Bagger

In the process of upgrading bike as overtime money allows.
Have the TMax already and Love It
Have the SE High Flow Air Cleaner
Bassini Scollops for Mufflers, Have the Bassani Power Curve On Order
But Now I think its Time for a Cam Upgrade
All my others bikes had been cam'd just enough to make the motor work better not to radical

Now '07 Ultra Ride 2 Up a Lot and My Wifey she ain't no Paris Hilton so we have a good load on the bike before we even put anything in the bags

What do you guys Suggest ? Thanks

i personally like the woods cams TW-5 this has a higher lift and you will want to know how high of lift you can install on stock, but i think this will work
also a Screaming Eagle SE-204 i have heard is nice
or a Andrews TW-37 would be my next choice
and Gear drive is always better

I have heard that the SE 204 and the Andrews 37 are not that good on the 96ci Engines, the SE 211 is a Better Cam i hear. I have Ordered my 211 and will be Installing it once it comes in

Wow!
How much power are you guys wanting?
I have a 07 ultra with a stage 1 and I can't see needing more power.
My wife is not a Paris Hilton either.

Talking to my wrench the stock 96 with Stage 1 is running 75 x 93 but with a SE 211 you will be at 84 x 95

I had Brian at "My Garage" in Ventura, CAdo a "Dave Mackie Megasphere" set-up on my 05 RK two weeks after the purchase and he dyno'd it to 101 hp / 104 tq with a Dave Mackie 598 cam. But, my guess is that to use the same cam, you'd need to have a simular set-up. Consult with a local shop who has a great reputation for performance gains. The one thing to keep in mind is some cams are better for top end horsepower and others are better for shoulder popping tourque that's useful passing Kenworth's uphill.

Good Luck!

Buzzard 69- number of good choices out there for Baggers with the 96 motor. Wood tw-6, Andrews 37,R&R 525, SE 255,Andrews 54. No real overridingreason to go with gear drive either with the 07 motors.

The R&R 525 is just out in the market and the Andrews 54 is still a month or two away.

RR525 || TW54 || SE 255
.525 lift || .555 lift || .550
20/38 intake || 19/39 intake ||
48/16 exhaust || 43/15 exhaust ||
238 intake duration || 238 intake duration || 211
244 exhaust duration || 238 exhaust duration || 235

Pick your riding style and talk to the sponsors/good shops and heed their advice.

I've had SE 211' s and they are good cams, but they are definitely mid range cams. They really don't come on till 3K RPM. Under that is pretty anemic. I know HD pushes them, but for a bagger I've found the 203's or 204's are actually better for my taste.
