Default Gauges on Fairing

I have a 07 glide with the white face gauges. The speedometer and Tach are fine, the small gauges fog all the time, especially in the AM when I first start riding. Takes some exposure to sun then they clear up. The bike is garaged, I live in central fl. I brought it up to the dealer and was told some gauges fog others don't. I have a letter ready to send to mother Harley voicing my thoughts on the quality of the gauges. Was curious if others had this problem?

Very common problem on all Harleys. I haven't personally had the problem with either one of my bikes with a fairing, but the lense on my Sporty speedo would fog up all the time.

Guess I might just be stuck with it, you would think with the cost of these machines the quality could be better, the gauges in my boat never fog, or any of the planes I flew. Mother Harley was not involved though.

I think it is because they have the opening for the light bulb. If they sealed them and a bulb went out you would have to replace the whole gauge.
You would think they could put a rubber boot or something on them but then it would take alot longer to dry out.

Fuel gauge on the cop bik fogs each morning

Yes, they should fit it, but really is it a large issue compared to being able to ride

I have an '06 SE Ultra. My VOLT gauge does the same thing. And it bugs me something fierce. The others are fine, though.

i haven't had that problem with my 06 glide. However, my fuel guage has never worked from day one. I'm finally bringing it in today for that to be fixed before the warranty runs out.

Maybe some dielectric grease around the bulb connection would keep things dry.

If this is your first harley with this gauge fog problems (assuming you have had others) then your lucky. Every Harley I have owned at one time or another, one of the gauges have fogged up to where sunlight will clear this up. Harley knows about this and it's at the bottom of there to fix list, right behind look at 07 tranny issues!! Good luck with your letter.
