That dealer is shopping for a sucker!

WOW, I bought a new 2021 SGS in Snake Venom, added suspension front and rear, chrome front fork legs, LA Chopper handle bars, Thrashin floorboards, brake lever and highway pegs. Added grips, mirrors, HD front and rear LED turn signals, Hogworks chopped tour pack, Santoro bag guards, Saddleman seat and $4k worth of stereo and saddle bag lids. All added up I am in under $39k.

Sadly some fool will pay it.

Edit: I read your post again and did not see it was an ST the first time. I still think the price is steep!

exactly this bc the minute it's registered in your name it's now a used bike from 2022 and will be valued as such from insurance

Their is a dealer here in Texas, I forget where bc I had cast my net far and wide last year when shopping, who did similar to their ST's except no paint. They also wanted about 38 or 39k. Bars, aftermarket solo seat, exhaust, footboards I think too. No way it added up anywhere near the mark up.

I bought my 2019 Fat Boy used last year & they actually valued it at $2k over what I paid
Based on add-ons that were already on the bike & Market value
$39k is way too much

It is worth exactly what you are willing to pay for it.

Thanks for everyone's input! I really appreciate it. Here are a couple of pictures of the bike in question.

In 2014 I bought a sgs that the dealer put agitator rims, chrome fork covers, highway pegs and one other thing (don't remember what), they were trying to up charge on the bike, nope not going to happen, in January the dealership needs to sell more than I need to buy, in August of 2019 I bought my wife's 19 heritage with a stage 1 done already, they tried to charge 2k for the upgrade, nope not going to happen, this was 2 weeks before the 2020s came out, I didn't pay for stage one and I got an additional 1500 off the bike. When you trade it in the dealership will tell you add-ons don't add value to the trade-in, they need to sell it. I don't need to buy it.

That is indeed a good looking ride.

The only trouble with that price, there is a whole lot of other motorcycle that can be bought for less, so unless you plan to die with it, I think you’d loose big on the backside.
