If your looking at spending that much money. Do a yourself a favor. Scott Takes from Cedar Rapids, Iowa paints for Choppers Inc. and I know that you can get custom paint done through him cheaper than $5K... Depending upon how indepth though. Here is a link to his web site. Half of the **** he has painted isn't on there. I know he's been on the "Discovery" Channel. Link here ---> http://www.undergroundartstudios.com/

Papa Travis are you going to hard bags too? I want a custom paint job, but it seems I'm limited with my leather bags.

RE: Custom Paint: HELP!
I did my own paint with the guidance of a buddy that is a certified painter. He frenched the Maxima bumber lights for me and got it to Silver, then I took over and painted the graphics, pinstripes and snake pattern. I painted the blue and he came back in to clear the whole thing. I then wetsanded and buffed the clear to add the finishing touch... depth!!! (see my photo gallery)
If I had to guess what this would have cost me it would have been around $5k! But that is alot more than solid color! And for anyone that ever doubts why it is so much, try fitting and refitting 18 pieces of the dresser to be painted!
We only charge around $1500-2000 to put all 18 pieces in color.

Make sure if you are painting it that you paint the inner fairing it looks much better painted and consider any add on you are thinking about that will be much easier with the bike disassembled ie. chrome lowers braided cables, guages . Also consider small things like shaving the rivets from the front fender for a clean look or installing a electronic antenna inside the fairing and filling in the tourpak where the antenna is, small things like these will save you time and money in the future.
