Looks awesome , I just put a chopped tour pack on mine last year for some longer trips with my wife , we needed the extra room , Lol . I agree , it does make the bike look sleek , also whenever my wife rides with me , she prefers it over the back rest , makes her feel safer .
I honestly think , it's because she now has room for her purse . .

Just watched your video. You did a great job. I added the metal plate to mine and it made a difference, especially if you're keeping it on there, I'd recommend it. As far as a the blue thread lock, I meant all the bolts, not just the ones that mount the the rack.
Looks killer on there though. Very sleek, like you said. Not too big. I like the looks of tour packs on the "geezer glides" as you say, but i still like the sleek stripped down look overall. Can't beat the utility though.

Looks OK......but IF it were mine, I would definitely spend the $40 for a proper metal insert. Currently those washers you used DO NOT spread out the potential "stress" of a fully loaded tour pack...especially one that might be just plastic which could easily begin to crack from its own weight and the weight of its contents and up/down and side to side movement as you ride. Hell the trunk was inexpensive so "splurge" ($40) and make it right!
The video didn't mention anything about the QUALITY of the plastic/ABS/fiberglass used, the paint surface, or the hinge hardware....
Nice overall but for me I'd buy the real deal (HD) and spend the $$$. I spent $26,000+ to buy my cycle, so whats another $1,000 ......LOL.

I have the king version of the ebay tour pack and like it OK. The latch kinda sucks and doesn't feel as secure as the HD latch so it'll be locked at all times. On that note, for about $70 I swapped out the lock mechanism to one that is keyed for my bike so I don't have to carry 2 keys.

I don't understand the chopped tourpak. Either way you have a box hanging on the back. Only you think it makes the big garbage barge look like a chopper. Why not put something useful on the bike? Especially if it is detachable? You are worried about looking like your trunk is to big when on vacation?
