I’ve got a 2005 Road King. I’m looking to put a new motor in it without changing the motor mounts. What is the newest year of motor can I go with that will bolt to Transmission and motor mounts?

 

Whatever twinkie was available at the frame change in 09 or sometime around then I would imagine. Probably what you have. If you’re dead set on a new motor, just redo what you have, bump it up a bit. Maybe. I really don’t know as you can tell. Speculating.

 

Latest is an 06 touring.. After that they went to the 6 speed gearbox and changed the way the motor and primary mount. The heads are better on the 06s but that's about it..

 

build the 05 or buy 1 already done.

 

S&S makes motors of larger displacement that will fit.
