The stock seat is 17" wide. The zep is 21". that alone makes a tremendous difference in comfort.

Tip: If you have the seat pumped up, don't leave your bike sit in the hot sun! Bleed air out first or you'll have a balloon for a seat!

Been there, done that!

Mine is about 9mos old. Just finished 1800 miles. Because of some surgery in the area that comes in contact with the seat I am lets say sensitive to how the Zep performs. I also bought a Alaska sheepkins both were great. It took me a little while to get use to the adjustments. Read the owners manual about creating a bowl effect. You just have to keep adjusting it until your happy. Then about 150 miles later I adjust it to something else. Constant changing at gas stops makes the seat really great. Almost like electric seat in car.

Put one on a few weeks ago because the "upgraded" Ultra stock seat really was a pain in the butt. I like zep very well but my wife, who has short legs, complains about the width of the drivers seat. I've raised the passenger floorboards and will have to see what her verdict is on that now.

Chester: I thought we talked about this? you need to get your wife some leg extenders (but I wouldn't advise trading her in for a new model, as I hear she's in on your scheme!)

When I had the Ultra, both my wife and I loved it. It takes some getting used to on the adjustment and we found that if we started out with no air and adjusted it on the fly the seat was more comfy!

I have a lepara maverick and love it. Wifey likes it to, but I really want to take her on longer rides sooooo....

- is there a model for 03 road king? (anyone have a link?)
- are you having any issues with chaffing due to hot weather sweat?
- How many children do I have to sell to get one?

Thanks

I got a Road Zep right here on the forum. Its great! Already had a stock backrest which works fine with it. Put the George Anderson kit on and its perfect 2 up. (Wife and I are both tall)

I have not been able to find a road zep seat specifically for the Road Kings. I am not sure if it will fit or not - I have to think it would as the bike is basically the same as all the other touring bikes.
