The other thing with prepaid maintenance plans is they normally expire in 3 yrs so depending on the miles you put on annually you may never be able to "use" what you buy in the allotted time. My buddy's wife got one when she bought her Sportster and only put 6,000 mi on it before the time was up on the maintenance plan. She will be lucky to have 20k on it before the 7yr extended warranty is up!Unless one is absolutely incapable of learning the basics to service your own bike for routine stuff like oil changes, maintenance plans are not a deal at all. Besides, you can always get walk-in preferred treatment at home and will know your way around your motorcycle when something does go wrong and you have to seek a pro's help. But if one can't /won't learn to do and perform basic maintenance you are at the mercy of those you choose to deal with.........
The dealers are running this whole scheduled maintenance scam in the ground. Some are pushing 2,500 mile servicings, $650 for the 20k service, and now pay in advance servicings. What's next?
Man, those rip off dealers really **** me off. We have two bad ones in NH. They think we are morons.
My dealer in Concord treats me very well. Gotta go nowl time for my 100 mile tune up.
