RE: Harley Center Stand
You need to adjust the bolts at the bottom that contact the ground so there is enough weight on them to hold the bike from moving forward and falling over. You will find if you have saddlebag guards like I have or the stock Ultra set, the best way to put the bike on the center stand is to push down with your left foot and stand up while you lift with your right hand on the bag guard. It helps to have a backrest and just push back a little as you raise your weight of the seat while lifting the saddlebag guard and holding the stand down with your foot.
If there is a dip in the cement or pavement, and it is too easy to the bike on the stand, don't park there as it will move forward and fall over.
Also, you can sit on the bike with your feet up. Hit the starter, and drive off.

RE: Harley Center Stand
Steve, as far as you know, can the adjustable stand be used on a standard height HD if the legs are adjusted all the way 'in' ? It seems like that would leave the rear wheel touching the ground when the stand is put down, and that's exactly what I am looking for. At the same time, if I wanted to raise the rear wheels, I could just adjust the feet down on the center stand.
Am I crazy, or based on your knowledge of the adjustable stand, would this work ?
Thanks ! /Pat K.
