My pop's had the same noise with his 07 UC..complained, took it to the dealer..they "said" everything is fine and did nothing..left there and the bike sounded great!?? I believe they enriched it...it was too lean...??

HEAT: The good news is the heat issue and the pipes/sound/power issue can be part of the same solution. The heat is caused by the engine running to lean a fuel/air mixture to meet EPA emissions standards. To do the fix you buy a package of pipes/air cleaner/electronic fuel injection controller and have it tuned to run cooler and better. It will run cooler, sound better and ride better because you'll get more useable power across the entire rpm range.

Go for one of the fuel moto packages from fuel moto usa. $787 for the one with PCIII/K&N air cleaner and Supertrapp SE pipes it will make a huge difference. You can add a True Dual header to get even less heat on the right side, but prolly not necessary.

Also get the RJS shields to protect those lovely thighs.

CLATTER: Get the IDS system installed. It will go a long way to solving your noise problems.
