Default Street Glide or Road Glide?

Hello,

I am 5 months from buying a bike. I love both the Street Glide and Road Glide. I know it’s the same bike except for the fairing. Ideas as to which to get? I am 5’5” and can handle both. I am leaning toward the Road Glide because I like the look better.
The weight of the Road Glide is the only flaw.
Anything I am missing?

Thank you,

fernness

Sounds like you have made your mind up. I went from a bat wing to a Shark and would not go back.

Love my Road Glide.
You won't notice the weight once you're moving. The big bikes are remarkably nimble.

Love my 2019 RGS, step up from my Road King.

NO extra weight on a Road Glide, in fact actually lighter at slow speed manoeuvres

I would rent both bikes a day each and run them though their paces on the same route. Then decide. Many dealers, at least when I did that a while back, deduct the rental to the purchase.

I’ve had both and both are great bikes. Heavy highway miles and long distance=Road Glide
More local riding and an occasional longer ride=Street Glide
Cant go wrong with either one.
Good luck

Both are amazing bikes. I prefer the appearance of the SG, but besides looks, i don't like the RG dash being further forward.

Your call . Those that play it safe stay in the box. Others step out side the box. SG is safe. Kind of amazing how many have been getting out of the box the last 10 years.
Find what works for you. Frame mounted faring is a blast to ride. Handles better. Got on my first RG in 2007 and never looked back.
However I was never known for playing it safe. Step out side the box keeps life interesting..
