Default Sirius Radio

Need a little help here guys, am trying to hook up my after market radio to my ultra, using the CD port on the bike radio. Problem is I am getting engine noise though the radio. The noise is there even if I turn the power off at the satellite radio however it will go away it I unhook the power cord from the satellite radio. This tells me the noise is coming through the power cord- am getting the power from the cigarette lighter. Not sure what to try next – any ideas?

i would try to get the power for your sat from the factory radio power lead. my be its buffered. also have you tried just the sat fm to radio anntenna feed. i mean seting the stock radio to 88.3 or something like that and just recieving sat signal that way. let me know what you find as i too am thinking of going with sat also. thanks

I think radio shack sells a filter that can be installed inline of the lighter. I would probably take the outer fairing off and install one on the insde of there. I did a quick search and here is a little bit about noise, but I am not sure this allpies to your specific situation. Or just call Crutchfield help line, tell them you are having issues with something you got from them!

Of course, like the others, mine is fine, but it is a 2001, maybe they did it batter back then.

You had me going on this one. I couldn't figure out why some posts to your question were missing. Then I discovered you started a new thread with the same title.
