Ok, time for a little, but slightly complex, update on the Koso's. I got them installed and all set up, LOVED the way they looked until I noticed that the bottom of the larger left gauge (Speedo) was not perfectly level with the rest of the gauges or the chrome trim ring. (If you look closely at the pic, you MIGHT be able to notice it....... I can. It's only like a degree or two twisted clockwise, but it's there.). I rode over to a machinist buddy's shop, and he saw it. I rode over to a mechanic buddy's shop, he noticed it. I've been a mechanic and semi-quasi machinist for years, so this bugged the crap out of me. I contacted Parts Giant who I bought them from, and they were all over it! (Parts Giants customer service is over the top in my books and I will always try to buy from them in the future going forward because of how they handled this issue!). Anyhow, second set came in, same thing. PG Customer Service guy said, well, I guess you can send it back and I'll refund you your $$$, OR........... if you really want, contact Koso themselves and see what they say. $70 in shipping to AND from Canada to Koso, and fighting with their Customer Service Dept. WAY too much, they said they didn't see squat and that they will not be covered under their warranty. ***** them!! 3 guys can see it but YOU can't??!! Screw them!! I REALLY wanted these gauges to work out because I REALLY liked them, buy I will NEVER own ANYTHING from Koso again. The Gauges were kinda cheap and hard to follow the set up instructions anyhow.
So, after I paid to have my crooked gauges sent back to me, PG Customer Service said they'd take them back under their warranty!! So I told the guy I've been dealing with, take these back and send me a set of the DD's for my bike. Like $160 more, but I really don't care. After all this Koso crap, and doing a bunch of research, I think I'll be WAY ahead of the game with the new DD's when they get here next week. You can do SOOOOO many more things with the DD's compared to the Koso's too. I'll get over the square peg in the round hole thing real fast knowing what a better quality piece of equipment these are over the Koso's! Plus, lol, like 32 different color combo instead of 2?? Ok, I'll play with that, lol! And Bluetooth set up on the DD's too?!
Sorry so long, but I wanted this experience to get out to those who MIGHT be thinking about the Koso's over the DD's. YMMV

I really do like the look of those but if I go Digital ir will be DD, mainly due to this post.
It's hard and expensive enough to get this stuff in Canada. Risking having to deal with shipping and exchanges for warranty purposes is even worse. Glad PG seems to be taking care of you.

having a square display in a round gauge really wastes a lot of space and it bugs me for some reason. Like others, I have a set of CVO gauges on order.

And CVO gauges are beautiful.
But that's about it.

If anyone looks at the photos in my previous post above they'll see that data and lighted indicators are definitely not confined to the square panels in the main speedometer and tachometer gauges. The square panels contains the main digital data readout(s), while the peripheral area is utilized for other indicators and graphic displays such as remaining fuel, check engine, security, ABS, oil warning and plenty more. The 2 peripheral (smaller) gauges contain their data inside the square panel. The net effect is a clean and immediately available data set for those who prefer having bright digits vs analog reads...like me. Analog gauges were about 50% useless for me, especially with dark gray glasses or sun shield.
I've always maintained that the best reason to get DD gauges is to enhance both the amount and visibility of data available at a glance, irrespective of the aesthetic. If anyone buys them strictly for the aesthetic that's legit of course, but it's an expensive upgrade almost nobody but the rider can see or admire. I debated and researched options for a month before making my decision. In my case it was a matter of function before form. Thankfully, I really like them for both.
