Put me down as one who trusts in my bike.... and in return my bike has to trust in me... it is a two way partnership....

Be careful there bud. You're assertation that there can be a "two-way trust" between a person and an inanimate object will be viewed as hilarious by some !!

****UPDATED****
It has been over a week, and a few hundred miles, and it would appear that the change of the main circuit breaker solved the problem.
Apparently on some 01s and 02s, there was a factory recall for bad breakers, and THEN a recall on the recall . My bike had never been in for the 2nd recall, and the breaker was bad.
Life is good again!!!

OF COURSE I SPOKE TOO SOON
Went stone dead on the way home from work tonite. No lights no nuttin. Sat off in a parking lot for a few minutes. I had turned the switch on, and then picked it up off of the stand to move it. As soon as the bike came vertical from off of the stand, it woke up. Drove home w/o incident. Gotta wonder if I have a loose or shorted out wire on the primary side of the electrical system.

Almost 8 year old bike with 45,000 miles. It will have a few issues. 45K on a bike is like comparing dog to human years. A 45k bike is more like a 90 100k mile vehicle. It should be fine after you work out the few small issues.Personally i wwould never purchase a 5-6 year old bike unless it was a heck of a deal.Still, there is nothing like an ULTRA. Thank your lucky stars you got at least an 02. The 99-01 years were really troublesome.
