Default Street Glide - 2-Up Detachable Tour-Pak

Anyone have a picture of the rear of the bike with this installed? Does the mount go through the oval holes in the fender skirt?

Thanks,

Frank

Yes, the chrome brackets go through the holes in the facia; you will need to relocate the antenna which occupies the hole on the left side. Also, suggest you buy a grommet, like the one in the left side, 'cause you will remove the plug on the right side of the facia for the right side chrome bracket.

Maybe try a search on tour pacs, king tour pacs, and detachable tour pacs, cause this has been asked many times over the past 2 months where a lot of pictures were posted with costs and the whole 9 yards. One post was only a week ago so it should be easy to find.

Oh and yes, that is a detachable King Tour in my signature pic as well. :-)

Here is a link to the post from last week c/w pictures. https://www.hdforums.com/m_679125/mp...tm.htm#2051423

Glideman,

How long did the install take? Does every harley dealer have the gromit that I need?

Took me about3 hours to install, but that included many beer breaks as it was hot in the garage the day I installed mine. It's pretty damned easy to install one. Just make sure you have a torx and allen kit in with your sockets and don't install screws/bolts without some loc-tite or blue thread lock agent.

Mounting nubs on the mounting kit rails (the ones that go thru the facsia, go to the saddlebag side. Not inside the two brackets. Correct?

Correct! For the front holes on the siderails, you remove the existing bolt and replace with the front mounting studs so the detachable bracket slides into it, and the arms mount on the rear holes of the side plates where the lower section goes down through the fascia and mounts up. Then you install the rear docking studs onto the new arms and this is where the back of the detach kits locks down onto. It's a pretty straight forward install, but look it all through as they include some extra parts in the kit that you won't require for a 2 up mount of the tour pac.

Did everyone have to use a bike jack to do this installation? I am having a real problem getting the screws back in on the strut.
