Who makes the most comfortable solo seat for touring?
#32
I currently have a 3 piece (w/backrest & pillion) custom stitched Mustang 79446 which I think is the Super Tourer. I’m looking at being a little closer to the ground as I age and to help my junk knees. I have the stock seat off the wife’s Freewheeler which accomplishes that but I really do like the fold down backrest the Mustang provides for mount and dismount and looking for something maybe between the two as far as seat height. So for those who’ve been through the process how does the Mustang Standard compare to the Super?

If you want to go the police solo seat route, I can put you in touch with a guy who can modify them and re-cover them. He does amazing work (Kansas City area).

This trip was different as I have removed the large wallet from my rear pocket.
Tips I've learned from the long distance riders I've the past 40 years is to look at clothing being worn in long rides. Jeans that are a bit tight in the seat/waist, etc, can affect comfort. I do like to wear dry tech sweat pants, and long sleeve shirt, under my Darien riding suit for longer rides. Usually riding alone then, or with other seasoned distance riders. When riding with a group, I'll wear the jeans and jacket or long sleeve shirt.

Check out the Mustang standard touring solo (#79600). That one won't move you back or up. I have had both, the super tour and the standard. I prefer the standard with backrest and run that seat on both my RGS and SG. I do use the optional off set backrest bracket. Much more comfortable for me than the straight, standard back rest bracket.
